About Us

What is AIGA?

The American Institute of Graphic Arts is the professional design association, serving as one of the oldest and largest membership organizations for designers all around the United States and the world. Currently, there are over 70 chapters and more than 15,000 members, forming a community of designers with all backgrounds and experience. AIGA Stevenson is a branch of the Baltimore chapter, which hosts events that enhance professional development, shares work from local designers, and brings the design community together through workshops, exhibitions, and conferences.

AIGA Stevenson

At Stevenson University, AIGA aims to help students become better designers, network with professionals and SU graphic design alumni, prepare their portfolio of work, connect with other creative students, and participate in the larger design community. We host events such as hand lettering and screen printing workshops, Adobe crash courses, portfolio bootcamps, and design-themed parties. Our members have also attended AIGA Baltimore events like Ink & Pixels, an annual event focused on professional development through speakers, roundtable talks, and portfolio reviews.

Our Purpose

To promote the passion of and education of all art and design students who are interested in the process of design, art, creative thinking, etc.

To provide opportunities for serious art and design students to meet other students in the major, network with design professionals, and learn more about design technologies through club-sponsored workshops.

To teach the community about the power design has on a community, as well as the importance of creative outlets for students, educators, and business leaders.
