Merch Fest

AIGA is hosted our very first Merch Fest! Attendees split into 3 teams and were given a design challenge to design merch using the A&GD logo. The top design by popular vote will be printed!
Mamma Mia Craft Night

Do you like coloring? How about ABBA? Romantic comedies? Musicals? Snacks? AIGA's first event of the spring semester was a Mamma Mia movie and craft night, featuring custom coloring pages and lots of fun.
Portfolio Bootcamp

AIGA hosted yet another end of year Portfolio Bootcamp! Faculty and students got together to review and polish up completed projects in time for end of year reviews!
Seymour Chwast: Poster Parts

AIGA took a long awaited field trip to the exhibition of Seymour Chwast’s Poster Parts! Being in an exhibition space for the first time in a while gave a fresh new view on design and rekindled inspirations before the end of the semester.
Color & Gender

We continued our design talks from last semesters “Decolonizing Design”. This time we discussed color and gender, and how to design beyond the gender binary. The inspiration for this topic comes from Ruben Pater’s book “The Politics of Design”
Fall Craft Night
October 21, 2021
Students joined together to paint pumpkins, make buttons, and do some fun art crafts right before Halloween. This evening event was meant to de-stress and to get to know other students form different majors interested in crafts.
Patch by Patch Workshop
October 15, 2021
Patch by Patch was a crafting event where students created their own patch for the collaborative project created by artist Mia Halton and Julie Kern Smith. "Patch by Patch is about the importance of human connection and its vital role in heightening our defenses, helping us heal, and making it possible for us to endure times of uncertainty."
Alumni Panel

The Fall 2021 alumni panel featured alums Aika San Diego (’20) and Grace Ferreira (’21). Both shared heaps of insightful information regarding finding work during the pandemic, and how the experience worked out for them after graduation. Students also asked questions regarding portfolios and capstone development. Thank you so much for your advice!
Movie Night
September 10, 2021
The movie night was a way for students to meet new people and gather together to celebrate the full return to in-person classes. Netflix's Abstract Ruth E. Carter episode was played first, followed by Black Panther in which her Oscar winning costume designs came to life on the screen.
